 More work in progress pictures for my Dilandau costume. Since Sakura-con 2014 has passed, I'm reworking several parts of the costume, like the straps, jacket, leg armor, etc. 'Cause everything must be perfect. Perrrrfeeeect. >:V

I'm once again behind on how current these pics are. A lot of the pieces I'm reworking are already done. Oh, the suspense! Will Casey survive? Will Josie and Arnett stay together? IS BECKANTHENA PREGNANT? Stay tuned!

Utena Tenjou is from Revolutionary Girl Utena. Her ultimate dream in life is to become a prince because a prince on a big white horse visited her when she was a crying little girl (big breath!) and gave her a ring he said would one day lead her to him. M'yep. Them aspirations.

Utena's all sorts of rad sauce. It's kinda bizarre she's, uh, like 14 years old. Really bizarre. Just creepy. She looks at least…not 14. And the high school dudes in the show look like they're in their twenties. I realize this is often just the way of anime. Uncomfortabllle. Well, I'm def. not 14, so problem solved.

Not only do I get to whip around cotton candy pink hair, I get to pull SWORDS OUT OF WIMMINZ.

And this is not an over-exaggeration at all, but there is exactly one hundred trillion rose petals in the show.

Cosplay Project: Alucard

Alucard is from Hellsing. He's old and cray-cray and bitey. Also, he is badassery incarnate, and I want to wear his swishy coat and go pew-pew with his guns. He's pale, too. Very pale. 'Cause he's DEAD and DID I MENTION HE'S A VAMPIRE? DUH THAT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS SHEESH JUST LOOK AT HIM. Mmhm. I'm pale, too. Some might say "shade of corpse," so that works out just peachy.

As an individual who is rather tall and mannish, I pull off crossplay costumes purdy well. That's what I like to tell people to sound like I know WTF I'm doing, but I really just like running around and pretending to have a penor.

My friend is also just getting into cosplay, and she's designing a Seres costume, who's also from Hellsing. Togetha, things gon get keeled.

Let me set the tone.

Cosplay Project: Dilandau

Dilandau Albatou is from the Vision of Escaflowne. He's an unstable, insubordinate 15-year-old boy, and Captain of the Dragon Slayers. I don't know how he keeps that job. He must be especially effective at what he does. Which is running off and burninating the countryside, I guess.

Right. So. I am definitely not a 15-year-old boy. Nor do I have the body of one. These lumps are aaall lady. And probably a little fat, too. Now, I must kindly ask that you set the visual image of my fatty lumps aside. Mmhm. Thank you. Despite my lack of pubescent boyness, I wanted to rock this look at cons.

I decided to make Dilandau's costume because he is my favorite character from the show OBVIOUSLY. He's possibly the single most interesting character in it. Okay, that's a lie. But he is the best in my totally unbiasedbutdefinitelybiased opinion. You'd have to be a crazy person not to like this. Did you hear that music? Like someone smashing a couple of trashcan lids together to alert you that PAIN IS COMING. FLEE FOR THE HILLS, FOOLS.

Yeah, uh-huh. 

Uhhh-huh.

UH-HUH YEAH COSPLAY IS GONNA HAPPEN.
